As a Designated Non-Financial Business or Profession (DNFBP) regulated under UAE federal law:
Mandatory Due Diligence
Kemet enforces strict AML/CFT due diligence. In compliance with Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2018 on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Financing of Illegal Organisations (as amended) and its executive regulations, Kemet is legally mandated to collect and verify identification documents (including valid Passport copies, UAE Emirates IDs, Proof of Address, and corporate Ultimate Beneficial Owner – UBO – structures) for all transacting buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants.
Transaction Refusal
Kemet reserves the absolute right to halt, terminate, or refuse to facilitate any transaction or customer relationship if a user fails to provide satisfactory KYC documentation, or if a user’s name matches international sanctions registries or the goAML reporting portal of the UAE Ministry of Economy.
This policy operates alongside the Terms and Conditions and Privacy and Cookie Policy. Documents collected for AML/KYC purposes are handled as Identity Data under our data protection obligations described in the Privacy and Cookie Policy.
